Manawale`a is a non-profit, (501 c 3) licensed riding center
located at Da Ranch in Waimanalo, `Oahu, Hawai'i.
We operate strictly with volunteer help from our board members,
from horse owners at Da Ranch and from individuals within the community.
We are funded by donations, grants and fundraisers.
Our staff is alert, caring and have a passion for horsemanship.
We work with children of all ages regardless of mental or physical challenges and are able to accommodate large or small groups.
Your child will have the benefit of a well supervised
educational experience which may include these modules:
|* Warm-up excercises prior to riding which ensure balance and proper
mounting / dismounting techniques.|
|* All riding is done in a confined area and is supervised by walkers
|* An arts and crafts experience where children will be given word puzzles, coloring projects and will also learn the parts of the saddle; parts of the horse and will have the opportunity to ask questions.|
|* Your child will learn to use a rope to lasso our famous "iron horse" which develop muscle, hand and eye coordination and control.|
|* Each child will be taught the proper technique of grooming, saddling and caring for a horse.|
|* Occasionally we will have a guest farrier or veterinarian available.|
